Scientific stays in France: an exceptional session open until November 17

The French Institute finances research stays to improve collaboration between France and Estonia. A 3rd session is exceptionally open in 2020 until November 17.

Are you doing research? You wish to collaborate with France? The High Level Scientific Stays (SSHN) program offers any PhD students, junior or senior researchers affiliated to an Estonian university a stay in a research laboratory in France, for a period of between 15 and 30 days. Projects will be judged on their quality and their interest for bilateral cooperation.

 

Being a SSHN laureate grants you :

  • A net monthly allowance of €2 055 for senior researchers or €1 704 for young researchers.
  • An access to accommodation in a hotel residence worth €1,700 per month, offered to winners at a preferential rate of €19.33 per night.
  • Eventually a free flight ticket, depending on the number of candidates selected.

 

Scientific priorities

The SSHN call is open to all scientific disciplines.

In accordance with the new strategic plan 2020-2022 of the French Embassy in Estonia, and with the aim to get closer to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDOs) established by the UN, projects related to sustainable development, the fight against global warming, energy, health, or engineering sciences will be privileged.

 

How do I apply?

  • The application form, containing the description of the scientific project, duly completed (downloadable here in Word format).
  • A CV (2 pages maximum).
  • An invitation letter from the French host laboratory, specifying the dates of the desired stay (which must take place in 2020).
  • A selection of a maximum of 5 publications (on free paper).
  • A photocopy of your passport.

Practical information and calendar

  • Due to the health situation related to Covid-19, the call will be open continuously until November 17, 2020 midnight: your application will be directly evaluated, guaranteeing a faster processing.
  • Mobilities will take place and must be completed before December 31, 2020. Given the health situation, the laureates will be invited to consider their travel as late as possible.
